What is an Eating Disorder?

An eating disorder is a preoccupation with food, weight, and body image. People may consider this as a lifestyle choice; however, they are serious illnesses that must be treated.

There are different types of eating disorders that vary due to behaviour. This can be diagnosed in an initial assessment for a tailored therapy treatment plan for each individual patient.

Research has shown that eating disorders are developed from psychological, social, genetic, and behavioural factors.
